WTF????

I know that everyone has their high's and their low's but has our society really gotten so bad to where adults can't do for themselves anymore? the reason that i am asking this question is because with being around the chat room here on the site for as long as i have i really had thought that i had seen it all. nope i was proven wrong again. i guess that i really shouldn't be surprised any more but hey someone gone and done it again.
last night in the chat room chatting with my friends is when this occurred. over the last few days there has been many new screen names to the room and this isn't a shock, quite often there are new people that come into the room to chat. one of the "new" people that has been in there quite often the last couple of days kept making the statement that they were homeless. seriously??? believe me the shock to me wasn't the fact that someone was homeless. there are thousands of homeless people on our streets every day ranging from the young to the old. the thing that shocks me is that someone would sit and almost whine about being homeless in the chatroom. i have been to many lows in my life and being homeless on a few occasions in my younger life was part of those lows. never once when i was in that situation did i get online and into a chat room whining about my situation and then have the gall to come right out and ask someone (a complete stranger) if they would give them a home. either of the time that i was at that low in my life i put my priorities in order. ya know job (if i didn't have one), roof over my head, food in my stomach that kind of thing. if i did have a job i always pulled every extra shift that i could in order to accomplish the other 2.
i guess that i really shouldn't be baffled by this at all. i see it every day with people around me expecting something for nothing, whether it is happening in one of the mindless games that i play that allow sharing or if it is with the people that live in the apartment complex that i live in.
maybe if our society would teach the philosophy that if you want something then you have to work hard to achieve it then people would feel more of a sense of pride of the things that they have.
wonder what baffling thing today will bring... *smh*

It's the state of the world these days - amazing too that people in poverty tend to have a place to stay, internet access, flat-screen TVs and cell phones, but are poor. There are homeless folks, some are transient - you don't see them in chatrooms, etc. but at homeless shelters and missions when they're not hitchhiking.
