Who is Fooling Who?

Just a few tawdry tidbits for a day when facts are suspect...

By the time men reach 24 years of age, 89 percent have had at least one experience with sexual intercourse. The statistic for women at the same age is 92 percent.

At least a quarter of all men have their first sexual intercourse at15 or younger. The statistic is similar for women with 26 percent having intercourse at 15 or younger.

According to a study published in 2000 by the Journal of Marriage and Family, eleven percent of all adults who have been married or co-habitated have cheated on their partner. A University of Chicago study in 1994 showed the rates were higher with 15 percent of women cheating and as many as 35 percent of men cheating.

That same University of Chicago study showed 54 percent of men think about sex daily or several times a day, while only 19 percent of women think about it that frequently.

And the same study reported that 23 percent of all non-married men have NOT had intercourse in the past year.

In a study published in Family Planning Perspectives in 1998, people in their 40s report having sex on average once every five days. In the same study the rate for people in their 20s is once every three days.

In a study published in the Journal of Sexuality and Culture last year, only 14 percent of people admitted to using a sexually explicit website ever.

This should give folks a few items to think about.

All statistical items mentioned here are available through the Kinsey Institute.

Welcome to our humble blog absolutelynormal. I'm guessing all 19 percent are part of the female population here.
