Doing Good Deeds

I try to do a good deed for someone each day. More often than not I pay the price for that good deed.

When doing a good deed, you shouldn't expect anything in return other than the feeling helping your fellow human out will give you.. Often times they are for people who need a helping hand. But for the life of me, I can not understand why once you have helped someone, they go back to what they where doing before and your assistance goes wasted.

Now and then, a person will see the light, and pull themselves up. Discovering that when they do, there are a greater number of people to help and cheer them on as they raise themselves up from the depths that had them helpless.

oh well, Think i'll continue to help someone when I can. Be a shoulder to cry on when one needs it. To give a hug when a person feels lost and alone. Some times a good nights sleep with a full belly and a clean body will improve one's self esteem 100%.

I think i'll continue doing good deeds, but perhaps be a bit more selective in who I help.

There is no greater reward in my mind than helping someone who accepts the help and learns from it or appreciates it. I've also found...like you...that often the "help" you offer is nothing more than teh receiver using the helper...and the program gets repeated daily with new good samaritans...its a way of life.

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop helping people but I'm like you...I'm going to know who I'm helping first.
