Di SNey debate...

I was talking to a friends wife the other night. She's kind of... snooty. She's one of these people who likes always being heard and has to be right. Whether she's informed about a subject or not. It's kind of annoying but at the same time entertaining to get her spun up and watch her flop and twitch.

A group of us were having cocktails the other night. Have you ever heard a story end well that started off this way? They all have and most are married or paired up... I was lone wolfin' it. Their were all hunkered down in the living room watching porn... I mean Dis' ney princess something or other.
My friends wife made a comment about her owning every Dis' ney movie ever made. I made some comment about how there was tons of inappropriate imagery in the collection and I thought some of it was racist and demeaning to women.
Holy fucking mickey ears batman... she went off. Talking about the sanctity of the movies, that they were all G-rated and how they were great entertainment.
Oh... the power of Go ogle.
I found some crazy shit.

I showed her that the black birds in the movie Dumbo were crows and the head crows name was Jim. All but one voiced by black actors in a "jive talk" way. That they were portrayed as lazy and uneducated. Except of course good ol' Jim... who was succinct and "white sounding" and trying to get the rest to submit to his leadership. She looked at me and said "that movie is 50 years old... so what". I was like... Jim... Crow...hello... nothing?

Then I said "how about all the Princesses feeling validated by finding their Prince". The little Mermaid left her entire life behind.

I showed her images from movies that had hidden penises, breasts and stick figures fucking.
Personally I find it funny, that animators hide these easter eggs of inappropriate images. I mean they are a bunch of horny geeks after all. What do you expect?
I asked her "what do you think the song, Can you feel the love tonight, was about"? Those lions are about to get busy.

The movies are dripping with materialism, crime and abuse and unless you're sitting down and explaining the imagery to little ... I think they lend to a break down in society.
Her husband was literally cringing and she's borderline ready to either cry or stab me.

I said "and you're worried about your seeing an ass crack"? Get the fuck out of here.
The "debate" went on for an hour. I tried telling her I was a master debater and a cunning linguist. ...Crickets...
She's dumb. Not much I can or care to do about it. But I'm not going to tolerate bullshit. I think she's mostly just small minded and won't give any of my musings a second thought... but... I do think they are burned on her psyche a little bit.
That... and she may never speak to me again. So... score for me.
Either that or she wants to just grudge fuck... who knows.

yes, the idea is all women should marry & be faithful to their man - how sad

and yet... the idea Cinderella did her own domestic & learned the value of herself & others is somehow lost today. To be a princess now means you act like an ugly stepsister.
I know it's harsh... and I don't have kids... but if I did... I'd have to really consider whether I'd let them watch any of these movies... unfortunately... they have become the baby sitter or lullaby for lots and lots of kids... I know it sounds crazy but it's almost a conspiracy theory kind of deal... I don't like it... I just think kids are really impressionable at that age... they should be watching Bob Ross and happy clouds instead...
